Learning Braille as an Adult
While this website primarily focuses on teaching Braille to K-12 aged children, it is just as important for adults to learn Braille if they have recently lost their vision, or were not given the opportunity to learn it as a child.
The main difference between teaching children and adults Braille, is that typically, a child will be learning how to read for the first time, whereas an adult may be comparing the process of learning Braille to reading print. This is why teaching adults Braille can sometimes take longer. This doesn't mean it should stop an adult from learning Braille though!

The Washington State Department of Services for the Blind (DSB) offers both in-person and virtual Braille classes, depending on the goals and needs of the student. Find out more by clicking the link to the left, labeled "Washington State Department of Services for the Blind".
